EExceeds quality and uniqueness of the finest “cool” brands
As many of you will notice, innovation in the gun market, especially the AR 15 market is not really true innovation; with the exception of certain manufacturers making different handguard attachments and what not. Merely taking a billet and machining a lower with some weird geometric shit on it, does not equate with innovation, nor does it improve the overall usability or intended lethal purpose of the weapon. Forged lowers from quality manufacturers are really the Apex of modern AR15 offerings, with the differentiator being different color options and coatings. Since most receivers if they are made properly are the same. Having quality CNC machining with good engineers and CNC operators, it’s likely that you will get a great product. So what becomes important to people who aren’t chasing the opportunity to essentially give way more money to manufactures than the product is worth, is a uniqueness and novelty factor; not a prestige factor. After all, if a receiver is with spec, the barrel, and bolt carrier group/bolt are the functional heart of the rifle, with the trigger being the next most important component in terms of its accuracy and precision. Since BAD is a company for people who are builders, that gives you the opportunity to choose the best components to go with some of the coolest receivers available. These are some of the finest (if not THE finest) forged AR15 lowers I have ever owned, and they are in my opinion way cooler than some of the other prestige brands I have. Brands like Noveske, Wilson Combat, LaRue, etc., that are considered or used to be considered top-tier, highly desirable rifles, are nothing more than tools to me, and I bought those brands close to 20 years ago, before they became obscenely overpriced and considered “cool” mid-GWOT.. With the addition of builds that I have based on bad attitude department lowers and uppers, I have guns that are just as good, reliable, accurate and precise; however, they are infinitely more cool than something that is now desirable merely because it was a heavily marketed product that was overly priced. In economics this is known as a Giffen good; taking an inferior or equally substitutable product of average quality, and putting a huge price tag on it with the knowledge that people who exercise conspicuous consumption will desire it more, thus driving up demand. That’s all the “cool brands” are doing, spending money on marketing campaigns and giving free shit to Instagram and YouTube influencer fags, so those guys will tell you how awesome the stuff is and how you will die if you don’t have it. Don’t believe the influencer dork hype. Instead, build your own rifles and spend the differential that’s left over from a “premium “or “god tier” brand, on quality mags, ammo and training. My bad attitude department rifles allow me to have an equal, if not better gun than many of of my older, more expensive ones; but with a uniqueness and personalization factor that is in my opinion, priceless. In many cases, due to using premium components in the BAD builds, they are actually worth more than the prestige Brands. In the end it doesn’t really matter, because they’re just guns and their job is to poop out bullets into destructive rat bastard beavers, coyotes and peopleoid targets. I cannot recommend BAD enough. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.
